Have you met such challenges during WLAN development under the call for replacement of copper cables with optical fibers?

High investment for technological upgrade

  • Copper cables need to be replaced and redeployed in response to the evolution of the wireless technology, resulting in repeatedly high investment.

Extra difficulty for O&M due to limited transmission distance and excessive relay nodes

  • Copper cables can only transmit data signals over a distance up to 100 meters so that access switches are used as relay stations in the long-distance transmission, which adds to the maintenance efforts.

Poor wireless performance out of step with rapid business changes

  • Growth of the wireless service requires continuous upgrade of wireless bandwidth.
  • The bandwidth of a traditional Ethernet uplink port is 1 Gbit/s, making APs unable to unleash their high-speed transmission performance.

Power supply in deploying optical cables for data transmission

  • Local power supply requires multi-department coordination and brings problems into electricity bill accounting and electricity safety.
  • Centralized power supply involves indoor nodes, which poses security risks.

Time-consuming troubleshooting and on-site service

  • Wireless network faults rarely recur, making it difficult to locate them.
  • Most AP faults can be rectified through restart, but on-site service is still required.

Architecture of the All-optical O-Share Solution

Deployment Mode

  • Master APs are connected to the fiber termination box through powered fiber cables and pigtails.
  • In the fiber termination box, the powered optical cables are connected to the pigtails (two copper cables are crimped and the optical fiber is spliced). APs receive power supply and transmit data through powered fiber cables.
  • Master APs are deployed in the equipment rooms of buildings. They manage and supply power to all micro APs.

Power Supply

  • The phoenix connector, PoE via the RJ45 connector, and O/E converter can be chosen for power supply according to AP connectors.
  • Master APs deliver point-to-point power supply connectors for APs and conduct power supply negotiation through power-over-fiber (PoF).
  • Each master AP can supply power for up to 24 micro APs, cutting down on the devices at each floor and reducing the number of ELV rooms. In this way, no active devices are required on floors, ensuring electricity safety.

Core Values

All-optical architecture saves network construction costs.
Master APs are connected to Wi-Fi 6 APs through powered fiber cables, which can achieve PoE power supply and high-speed data transmission over a distance reaching up to 1100 meters.
The new thin powered fiber cables boast smaller size, longer life, and easier deployment.
The architecture substantially saves network construction costs and efforts.
2.5GE optical ports fully unleash the Wi-Fi 6 performance, breaking the Gigabit bottleneck.
The 2.5GE downlink ports of a master AP make the best use of Wi-Fi 6 performance, offering a superb wireless experience.
Point-to-point power supply is safe and convenient.
One master AP connects to up to 24 wireless APs, with one optical port peering with one power supply port. This technology is safe and reliable and more convenient for power-on and power-off.
The solution makes it easier to perform O&M and frees you from onsite maintenance.
WIS cloud-based visualized O&M allows you to achieve intelligent network optimization through visualized experience, active prediction, and professional fault rectification, improving the O&M efficiency by 100%.
The INC management platform helps perceive statuses of network-wide devices in real time and reports alarms. The platform ensures efficient O&M of the all-optical network through link diagnosis and automatic optimization.
